Lily, Rose and Sophie Tibbott — identical triplets from Morris, Illinois — struggled to find a university that was the right fit. Their mother, Paula Tibbott, expected them to end up in different states across the country.
However, the trio knew they had found their home at Central Michigan University from the moment they stepped on campus. The offer of three full-tuition scholarships sealed the deal.
"This was the first school we all really liked," said Sophie Tibbott. "It felt like it really fit us."
The Tibbotts each earned a Centralis Gold scholarship, making them a part of the prestigious CMU Honors Scholar community. The scholarships provide full tuition valued at about $58,000 — or $174,000 for the three of them — across four years. More than 700 high school students compete for one of only 150 Centralis Honors Scholarships offered annually.
