'Middle East Quagmire' topic of Alabama World Affairs Council presentation_Troy University[트로이대학교,미국대학장학금]


Dr. David Sorenson, professor of international security studies at the U.S. Air Force's Air War College at Maxwell Air Force Base, will address "The Middle East Quagmire" during a presentation to the Alabama World Affairs Council on Thursday at Troy University Montgomery.


The presentation, which will take place at 1 p.m. in the auditorium of the Rosa Parks Library and Museum on the TROY Montgomery campus, is the latest installment of the council's eight-week International Security Issues series. Each 30 to 45 minute presentation is followed by a question-and-answer and discussion segment.


Dr. Sorenson received his Ph.D. from the Graduate School of International Studies at the University of Denver, and his bachelor's and master's degrees from California State University at Long Beach. He previously served on the faculties of the University of Colorado at Denver, Denison University and the Mershon Center at Ohio State University.


Dr. Sorenson has published "Lebanon: Global Security Watch," "Interpreting the Modern Middle East," "The Process and Politics of Defense Acquisition: A Reference Book," "An Introduction to the Modern Middle East," and numerous articles and book chapters on Middle East politics, defense budget politics, and national security affairs. Professor Sorenson was AWC Associate Dean for Academic Programs (2000-2003).


Parking for these events will be available in the Troy University Montgomery lot adjacent to the Davis Theatre for the Performing Arts, as well as behind the Rosa Parks Museum.
